We are in the 2011 CAMRA Good Beer Guide

If you are looking for a traditional street corner pub, look no further!.

The Richard Cobden is a fine example of an English hostelry rich in 140 years of history and the heart of the local community. This "locals pub" offers one comfortable 'L' shaped bar and an attractive beer garden.

The spiritual home of the local Morris Men, who for more than 30 years have helped to dance in the New Year, also hosts a weekly Jazz evening on Thursdays when talented locals play for your enjoyment.

We are well known for our selection of finely kept 'Real Ales' pulled from our cellar by traditional hand pump and served by the good 'old fashioned' English pint (or half for those less indulgent).

Some regulars even drink from their own pewter tankards.

Landlord Steve welcomes you to the Richard Cobden Pub

Traditional pub games are available including cribbage, shuffleboard, dominoes and shove ha'penny, not to mention our darts team who are always happy to welcome more players.

On Sunday lunchtime we have a hugely popular meat, wine and spirits raffle and the last Sunday of the month is ever popular with three £50 bar tabs to be won.

With over 25 years of licensed trade experience and a passion for community and Real Ale, landlord Steve Walker looks forward to welcoming you soon to The Richard Cobden.
